I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest from the author, Laura Barnard herself. Thank you so much for this opportunity! I genuinely enjoyed reading this!
I did not expect to speed through this so fast! I finished this in just a matter of hours. I just didn’t want to put it down. I really enjoyed reading this, it was such an easy humorous read!

The premise itself just shows you it’ll be a rom-com. We see Charlotte and Arthur, who meet unexpectedly at a party. Shortly after, they have a one-night stand with no strings. Arthur is basically married to his job with no time for dating. Charlotte understands that nothing can come of this and is okay with the one time. However, fate has its own agenda, Charlotte gets pregnant. Arthur doesn’t want to be an arse and also tries to protect Charlotte from the press and gets her to agree to a fake engagement until the baby is born. What could go wrong?
Honestly, I had no expectations going into this. But I loved every minute of it. Both of the characters were extremely likable and entertaining to follow. While both definitely had plenty of quirks, Charlotte and Arthur were adorable together. I don’t think this book would have been nearly as entertaining if something was different.

Now I’ve never had any children or been pregnant, but it was so enjoyable to see all the details of Charlotte’s pregnancy. From what I do know about pregnancies, all her experiences seemed very realistic. Maybe a bit over the top, but they were humorous to read. I do hope I never experience what Charlotte went through when I do get pregnant.
As I mentioned, I went through this very quickly. This book flows extremely well. It helped that this was a rom-com and very lighthearted while our main characters also being very likable. I honestly couldn’t imagine this story happening any other way. The drama that we got to see was so good. Even if it was being a bit predictable, but I still love that even with these types of books.

I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a quick lighthearted read that’ll make you laugh and are a fan of romances and rom-coms. I can definitely see myself as a future fan of Laura Barnard, I totally want to read more of her books!
