I simply did not want to stop reading.

Things are looking up for Tora McAllister. There is a sexy veterinarian in her life, a couple of good friends, and an apartment she loves (even if she has to walk up three flights of stairs to get there).
But someone from her past doesn't share in her happiness, causing her clean slate to get all chalked up.
How can Tora enjoy a fresh start when it is full of not so new problems.
I received a copy of The Smoke Tree: Broken Branches from the author, Stefanie Nici herself. In return for an honest review. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
Oh, this was such a great read! It was so fun to follow Tora again. To see what new drama was in store for my girl. Oh, and what drama it was! Poor Tora has really been through it all!

This flowed just as well as the first book. I simply did not want to stop reading. Once again, I felt all the feels as Tora received blow after blow of drama. I was mentally screaming at her for some of her choices. But at the same time, I know I probably would have made some of those same choices if I was in her position.
I simply did not want to stop reading.
The only main difference from the previous book I noticed was this had less of that self-growth. Where The Smoke Tree was more about Tora gaining back her confidence as her marriage fell through, Broken Branches didn’t have that. Mostly because Tora still had that self-confidence. In fact, she really pushed to be that strong independent woman, even when she didn’t need to. She had already proved she was one and doing so just created more drama.
This was such a fun light contemporary read with more shit… I mean drama for Tora deal with. I genuinely enjoyed reading this following Tora even though I didn’t agree with everything she did. I was happy to see she got her happy ending.
Hopefully, it’ll stay that way! I better not have to read another book where Tora deals with more drama, Stefanie! Just kidding, I’d totally want to read it! #TeamSmokeTree
I think anyone who enjoys a light contemporary read will enjoy The Smoke Tree duology!
