The Flip Side of Sad Review

I thought this was such a cute story with a deeper meaning to remind us that we won’t always have good days.

Rating: 4/5

James Letta is the world's newest singing sensation. But for someone who always sings such happy music, he sure is sad. While on a promo tour for his new album, James has what he thinks is the hardest day of his career... until he has to relive it. Release Date ~ March 30, 2021

I received an ARC from the author, herself in return for an honest review. Thank you so much! I truly enjoyed reading this one!

I thought this was such a cute story with a deeper meaning to remind us that we won’t always have good days. We will get those occasional bad days and if we think we’re having too many bad days, we should do something to change that. That way we’re back on The Flip Side of Sad.

The premise was simple, we follow a musician who after becoming famous is no longer feeling happy. So one day a spirit pulls him into his own album to remind him of what it means to be happy. I don’t want to say any more than that otherwise I’ll ruin the story!

For being a short story, this is definitely short. But it flows well and is such a quick read. I just floated right through to the end. It’s written so well! I thought our main character was very likable despite his unhappy state. I really felt for him and I wanted him to be happy again.

I will admit, I do wish we got just a little more than what we got. As I mentioned, this is a shorter short story. I couldn’t help but wish we’d gotten a little more back story on our main character. I would have truly enjoyed getting to know him a bit better. I think it would have helped paint a better picture of how he got so unhappy.

If you’re looking for a quick read that’ll put a smile on your face and make your heart swell, look no further and pick this one up!
