Journal Entry | January 15.2023

Hello, beasties!

It's time for the MID-MONTH CHECK IN!

How's your reading going?

I felt like I started off the year a bit slow when it comes to my reading. But at the same time, I've also already read 6 books. And according to my Goodreads, I'm ahead of my reading schedule to reach my reading goal of 100 books. So clearly, I'm doing better than I thought!

I will say, the book I started off the year with was an interesting choice. What was it you might ask? I chose to start the year off with Dead Inside by Chandler Morrison and... Oh my word. I have no words for this book. All I can say right now is WHAT THE FUCK.

This leads me to…

What else have I read so far this year?

I finished the following books:

Dead Inside by Chandler Morrison

Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King

Saga, Volume 5 by Brian K. Vaughan

Red Rising by Pierce Brown The Walking Dead, Book Eight by Robert Kirkman Monstress, Vol. 1: Awakening by Marjorie M. Liu

These have all been fairly quick reads. One of them was one I was already in the middle of reading from last year. I have a few others that I started in 2022 that I'm hoping to finish soon!

This leads me to…

What am I currently reading?

I’m currently in the middle of:

To Capture His Heart by Nancy Campbell Allen

Covet by Tracy Wolff

All Hallows by Christopher Golden

The first two are the ones I was already in the middle of from last year. And I started All Hallows for an ARC book club hosted by some friends. I'm hoping to finish these all soon!

What am I reading next?

The books pictured above are my next reads that I'm hoping to start this next week!

The It Girl by Ruth Ware

One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig

Locust Lane by Stephen Amidon

I'm happy to be finally out of my reading slump! I'm still not quite reading daily as I used to. But I am reading more than I was all through the holidays.

I think I finally got the hang of these reading updates as well! I don't think I'll be doing weekly updates like I originally planned. That seems a little too much to handle with my current workload. But I will still post a couple of times a month! I keep having to remind myself, this blog isn't my job. So it's okay if I don't have time for it. But I do miss posting more regularly. So I'm working on prepping more posts to stay on top of that!

Until next time!
