This is a must for zombie fans!

The world may be doomed by her mistake...unless she has the will to save it.
In the laboratories of the nation’s secret Bioweapons Division, Dr. Claire Lyle houses vials that could trigger the apocalypse. After a decade of neglecting her husband and daughter to develop the virus, Claire has finally created the most infectious microbe known to man. Excited to share the news about her creation, she gives an update on the project to her new superior, only for him to demand it be destroyed.
With all hope of negotiating for the project’s survival gone and a broken promise remaining where an effective vaccine should have been, Claire is forced to choose a different path, one which includes a distraught co-worker who is full of damning secrets.
I received a free copy of Claire’s Apocalypse through Blackthorn Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for this opportunity!
This short story is simply amazing! I read it in a single sitting and even when I was finished I couldn’t help but want more! But, in a good way! This is a must for zombie fans!
This short story is definitely short, being roughly 37 pages. But it packs a punch! This was a slightly different take on zombie apocalypse than I’m used to seeing. Often, I see stories where we’re already in full swing of the apocalypse or we get to see the start of it. But in Claire’s Apocalypse, we get to see the creation of the virus.

Personally, I didn’t think this was too far off from being real, which makes this even more creepy to read and think about! I won’t say too much otherwise I’ll be spoiling it, but I just loved this take on apocalypses. It was interesting to see the thoughts behind the creation of this virus. Why they felt the need to even think of it. Why they felt it should exist. Even though I didn’t agree at all with their reasoning, it was still fun to read about.

I will say from the start of the story it was obvious the virus had gotten out, but the how wasn’t clear. So it was captivating to not only see the creation of this virus but how it had gotten out and the events that led up to it.
As I said, this left me wanting more. And I mean this in a good way. I felt the story itself was just the right length. Though, I still would have loved to see how the virus spread after its initial release. After finishing this, I just want to read more zombie apocalypse books! This has definitely pushed me back into my zombie mood!
I think this would be perfect for any zombie fan! It’s a super quick read and fills all the zombie needs of a zombie fan!
