2022 Enchanted Readathon - Week Five

Only one week left!!

Let's see... how many prompts have I completed...

7/16

Woop! I got through another two books this week! I'm honestly proud of myself.

I was feeling terrible about how little I've read during this readathon, my own readathon. I honestly had hoped to finish all the prompts. It's just not going to happen for me, unfortunately. I've accepted that now.

But then I had a talk with fellow bookstagrammer, Chantal @atozbookaholic who's been sharing her reading progress with me throughout the readathon. She mentioned that she had hoped to read more but was happy with the progress she's made and that this readathon got her reading outside her normal. I was already loving seeing her progress but hearing that made me feel so good about putting together this readathon!

And after my conversation with Chantal, I felt so much better. It reminded me that I created this as just a way to add fun to reading! And while I haven't read as much as I had hoped, I have read some and it's included books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while now or books that I've been really wanting to read. That's what's important.

So what did I read?

I swapped out my original pick for Mother Knows Best, for a different book that's been on my shelf for a while, Cold Hearted by Serena Valentino. This prompt asked that you read a book set from a mother's point of view. And Cold Hearted checked that box! This is a retelling of the Cinderella tale, giving us some background on our wicked Stepmother.

And earlier today, I finally finished Silver Flame by Karpov Kinrade, this was for the Blood Sucker prompt, which asked you to read a book involving vampires! This is the third installment of the Vampire Girl series, I think the series title gives it away that this does in fact include vampires.

So what am I reading next?

Up next I'll be starting Horrid by Katrina Leno, this will be for the A Rose by Any Other Name prompt, which says to read a book with a rose on the cover.

Being that there is only a week left of my readathon, I'm really going to try and push to get through some more prompts this week! I would still like to try and get to 12/16. But we'll see how much time I end up getting to read!
