2021 Superlatives

Updated: Dec 30, 2021

Here are some notable books from my 2021 reads!

Another year has come and gone! Time certainly does fly. As I was working on my Top 3s for the year, I saw this trend going around of people sharing their 2021 Superlatives for the year. I absolutely loved this idea, it felt like a yearbook style of mentioning some of your reads from throughout the year! Because it not only gives me the opportunity to share some of my favorite reads this year but also a chance to share some other reads that were worthy of mentioning like the Biggest Laugh, The Most Disappointing, etc.

I made my list of superlatives to match what I felt fit my reading! While some of these are also part of my top favorites for the year, others aren't. But I felt they deserved a spot on this list for their own reason! Enjoy!

2021 Superlatives List

Most Tender: Confess by Colleen Hoover

This book was one of the sweetest romances I've ever read! I can't wait to read more from CoHo after reading this book. You can check out my review here!

Spiciest Read: Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Another great CoHo read! This one gets hot hot HOT! You can check out my review here!

Biggest WTF Moment: Verity by Colleen Hoover

One thing I've learned with CoHo is you never know what to expect. She proves that with Verity. This was one effed up read. The entire book had me saying WTF. You can check out my review here!

Most Beautifully-Written: The Slow March of Light by Heather B. Moore

This book was one of the best historical fiction I've ever read. This showcased such a terrible time in history so beautifully. You can check out my review here!

Most Unique: Hidden Realm by T.R. Slauf

This was one of the most unique retellings I've read in a long while! This book showcases such an interesting take on the Grimm Brothers tales. I can't wait to continue the series. Review to come in 2022!

Cutest Couple: Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe

Even before this came out in a graphic novel, I've been shipping these two love birds. I'll never get enough of these two! You can check out my review here!

Biggest Laugh: This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens

This is one of my favorite rom-coms that I've ever read. But one particular scene involving a sex toy had me absolutely dying! I still laugh just thinking about it! You can check out my review here!

Favorite BOTM: The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

This was another hilarious rom-com. I can already see myself recommending this for years to come. Review to come in 2022!

Most Cringeworthy: Final Girls by Riley Sager

Now I read a lot of horror and thrillers, and I often come across scenes that make me uncomfortable. But this book takes the cake! One particular twist had me gagging so bad! I still gag just thinking about it now. You can check out my review here!

Most Disappointing: Survive the Night by Riley Sager

This was by far my most disappointing read for the year. I am a big Sager fan, I've enjoyed all his other books. So when this was finally released I couldn't wait to pick it up. But unfortunately, I hated it. You can check out my review here!

Check back next week for my Top 3s for 2021! And thank you so much for all your support this past year! Happy reading!
