02.01.2025 | Romance Bingo

Yesterday I mentioned having some fun plans for February, and if you haven't already guessed from the photo, I'm doing a new reading challenge to spark some fun reading throughout this month! I'm hoping this will help me get through some more of my backlist books as well. And I'm so excited!

The idea behind Romance Bingo is purely for fun, a unique challenge to read more romance books, to try and clear the board within the time frame. I wanted to make it more in line for romance so instead of the board saying BINGO, we've got LOVE, meaning there's a total of 16 prompts to try and clear this month!

To try to keep it more along the lines of how normal bingo works, I've got each trope numbered. And however you decide to do it, you pick numbers at random to determine the order of tropes to read. I've got each trope written on a piece of paper and placed inside a jar. Then you pick a book that fits that trope, and read it!

So to summarize ~ draw a trope, read a book with that trope, mark it on the board, and repeat!

Additional rules:

One trope per book, no doubling up.

DNFs don't count, you must finish the book for it to count, so if you DNF a book, you must pick another book that counts towards the trope, or you can skip it!

Must start the books during the challenge.

So what are all the tropes?

Friends to Lovers

Forced Proximity

Protector

Fated Mates

Love Triangle

Slowburn

Fake Dating

Arranged Marriage

Hot 'n' Spicy

Enemies to Lovers

Monster Love

Grumpy Sunshine

Second Chance

Love at First Sight

Forbidden Love

Beauty and the Beast

My first trope is Grumpy Sunshine! I haven't decided what book I want to read just yet. I'm still trying to finish Onyx Storm from last month, so I have a little bit before I need to pick.

That means, this month I don't have any specific reading hopefuls. I do have some general ideas for books for each of the tropes, I did make a few lists from the books I have to help cut down on needing to decide. But it'll definitely depend on what tropes I pull as there are some overlaps for some of the books I'd like to try and read.

I can't wait to see how many tropes I clear. Hopefully, I can at least get a bingo!
