Hello, beasties!
It's finally the end of the month! And time for my monthly WRAP-UP!
How did your reading go this month?
Oh my goodness, it felt like this month was never going to end! Part of me is relieved its finally here, but at the same time I keep thinking, its only been ONE MONTH this year? Last year time seemed like it was flying and this month felt like it was so slow.
ANYWAYS! Back to BOOKS!
This month I truly surprised myself with the amount I read this month. I know I went guns a blazing into reading after the start of the year, but I really didn't expect to read 12 BOOKS?!
To some that might not seem like a lot, but for me it is. Especially when the past two years I really didn't read much at all in comparison to previous years. So I'm excited to see what I read in the coming months.
This leads me to…
What did I read this month?
I finished the following books:
Everything is Fine, Volume One by Mike Birchall
Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood
The Second Chance Year by Melissa Wiesner
Everything is Fine, Volume Two by Mike Birchall
The Calculation of You and Me by Serena Kaylor
Reflection by Elizabeth Lim
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
The Way Up is Death by Dan Hanks
Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
The Never King by Nikki St. Crowe
Recursion by Blake Crouch
White Horse Black Nights by Evie Marceau
I also had one DNF:
If I Stopped Haunting You by Colby Wilkens
I’m currently reading:
Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
I'm past the halfway point and I'm hoping to finish this tonight, which would give me 13 reads for January! That should be easy enough right? I had hoped to finish this earlier this month, but I got serious book hangover over the weekend. After multiple days in a row of staying up late and reading books until well into the morning, my body was like okay, you need a break. It was hard to pick up a book for the past few days, all I wanted to do was sleep. Though I think this little bug I was fighting just made it worse too. But I'm feeling better! And so ready to finish Onyx Storm now!
For what I did manage to read, I read about half of the hopefuls I set out to read this month. While I had hoped to get to more of my hopefuls, the FOMO was STRONG when it came to picking up the Fourth Wing series in preparation for the Onyx Storm release and it really derailed my reading plans. Do I regret it? Not at all! I'm just happy I'm reading regularly again. And I'm absolutely OBSESSED now with Fourth Wing, the book hype was so worth it. I wish I picked up this series sooner!
As I mentioned, I'm excited to see what the rest of the year brings if its anything like how this month went, I think I'm going to have a great reading year! And just wait until you see what I have planned for my reading in February! I'll be sharing that tomorrow!
Until next time!
